a week home again

My parents gave me a DSLR camera for my graduation present. So if you've noticed that my pictures are of better quality recently...it's because they are. I love the new camera and am having a lot of fun playing around with it. I'm learning what I can and can't do at my skill level now and make some disappointing mistakes, but I think I take better pictures each day I work on it.

Brett cut his hair and now he and Ethan look more alike than ever!

I went to the park with Rob and the babies for our Thursday play date. It's nice to chat with Rob and see the little minkies.

I've also had more energy this week for cleaning. I'm still working on The Big Deep Clean, but hope to be really and truly done by the time the semester begins. Cordelia has been "helping".

the socialite

I can't talk to Ethan when I'm feeding him, because then he thinks it's time to be social and not eat. If I talk to him, he stops eating and just smiles and smiles at me. I've found that I can't talk to other people while I'm feeding him either. Brett just called while Ethan was eating and when I answered the phone, Ethan thought I was talking to him. And being the polite and social boy that he is, he promptly stopped eating to grin at me until I hung up the phone.

forgotten already

Remember how last night I was talking to my mom about my interpreting certification testing and I got all freaked out because the State is taking longer to get results out and so I think I'll only have one more time to take the test before my certification lapses and I can't interpret anymore?

And remember how Brett and I are really struggling financially and I need to pass the test so that I can still work because he's in school but he recently started working another job so that we can try to pay our bills, but he can't work two jobs and go to school so I am going to be working full time this fall...if I can get any hours, that is. And if I'm still certified, that is.

But then remember how I was telling Brett about it and starting to freak out again and he said, "Or you can get a job bossing people around because you have an MBA." Ha. I had forgotten that I just got an MBA. Granted, many of my classmates are still unemployed and many people are looking for work. But me having an MBA helps my situation more than not having one. Whew!
